Does furniture need a TBS certificate?
It depends on the HS code. TBS publishes a list of regulated HS codes and a list of exempt categories, and we check your item list against both before you order.
What happens if there is no certificate?
For consignments subject to PVoC, TBS says goods that arrive without the customs clearance documents and the Certificate of Conformity are rejected or fined at the port.
Who inspects in China?
TBS uses authorised third-party agencies for the physical inspection, testing, document review and factory audits where necessary. It lists them by zone, so we confirm the provider for shipments from China before production starts.
Does the TBS certificate replace your quality report?
No. The certificate addresses regulatory conformity; our inspection report covers the agreed furniture quality scope. Each has its own place in the order.
Can I buy remotely?
Yes. Supplier comparisons, photo and video reviews, samples and written approvals all work from a clear brief. A Foshan visit can be planned around the same room schedule if you travel.
What should I send first?
A floor plan or furniture list, the delivery address in Tanzania, your product budget and the date the property can receive goods. If your agent has already checked the HS codes, attach that note.
