A house in British Columbia (V0N postal area) ordered indoor and outdoor furniture in Foshan — a live-edge desk, bookcases, a sectional, armchairs, deck dining and lounge sets and a mattress — but not enough to fill a container. It went as a part-container (LCL) shipment instead of waiting for a full load.
Every piece was re-crated and reinforced in Foshan before it left: braced timber frames around the wrapped furniture, not the factory carton alone.
Loaded 5 June, sailed 9 June, at the door 15 July 2026. The same crew unloaded, uncrated, assembled, positioned the pieces and took the packaging away — the client did not lift a crate.
This is what “delivered” means in a Source Foshan project: the piece standing in the room it was bought for, with the waste gone.
A mixed household list rather than a single room: a live-edge slab desk with an armchair and stool for the study; a full-height walnut bookcase and display wall; a linen sectional and a pair of rattan-back armchairs; two woven lounge chairs with an oak side table; an outdoor dining table with rope chairs and a rope-weave lounge set for the deck; and a mattress with bedding. Different factories, different packaging standards, one destination.
Pieces from several suppliers were brought to our consolidation warehouse, inspected, wrapped and rebuilt into braced timber crates — the factory carton is rarely enough for a six-week sea leg and two truck legs.
Consolidated as an LCL shipment; the client paid for the space used, not for an empty half-container.
Booked on the next sailing; tracking shared with the client.
Handled by our shipping partner; the client was contacted to fix a delivery date once the shipment cleared.

Crates, cardboard and wrap go back on the truck. The client is left with furniture, not a garage of plywood.
Yes. Orders that fill less than roughly 25–28 cubic metres usually go as LCL (less than container load): your crates travel in a shared container and you pay for the cubic metres used. The trade-off is more handling at the consolidation and deconsolidation warehouses, which is why re-crating matters more for LCL than for a full container of your own.
In this case six weeks door to door: loaded 5 June, sailed 9 June, delivered 15 July 2026. Sea transit to Vancouver is typically 3–4 weeks; the balance is consolidation, customs clearance and booking the inland delivery. See the transit table in our buying guide.
On Source Foshan projects, yes — the delivery is scoped as unload, carry-in, uncrate, assemble, position and remove the packaging. Ask any shipper whether “door” means kerbside or in-room before you compare quotes.
