From the UK to Foshan: nonstop into Guangzhou, then a planned showroom route
Heathrow and Gatwick fly nonstop to Guangzhou in about eleven hours, and the clock only moves seven or eight — enough to land, sleep, and work the next morning without losing a day. UK buyers usually need two categories done properly, not ten done badly.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Foshan has no international airport. The gateway you pick decides how much of your first day survives the landing.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port passenger service was suspended on 16 July 2026 with no restart date announced. Older guides still recommend it.
The days on the ground
Four days is the working minimum for anything beyond a single category. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.
- Day 1
Land and calibrate
Land, transfer, rest — then a short walk through Lecong to calibrate prices
- Day 2
Lecong showrooms
Lecong showrooms against your list: two or three options per line, photographed and priced

Factories behind the malls

Field noteLecong sits about 10 km from the Nanzhuang tile centre and 10 km from Longjiang, so no single base serves everything.可乐家(装修记录), Xiaohongshu

Where the days are actually spent
Contract pieces come from factories that already build to a fire and wear standard. Upholstery is where showroom prices and factory prices diverge most, so both ends are worth seeing.
Lecong 乐从
Where the trip starts: room-set showrooms, a hundred options before lunch, prices you can argue with.
Longjiang 龙江
Factory town for upholstery. The material markets behind it are where a showroom price stops being a mystery.
Chancheng 禅城
City centre. Good base, good dinner, flagship showrooms for kitchen and bathroom.

Where to stay
The hotel is a routing decision before it is a comfort decision.

What UK buyers get caught on
- 01Post-Brexit, the UK importer handles its own customs entry and pays 20% VAT on goods plus freight. EU rules of origin do not apply to a UK import, and a supplier who quotes you an EU landed cost is quoting the wrong country.
- 02UKCA marking and 220–240 V are the default for lighting and electrical furniture. Ask whether the certificate covers the exact model or a similar one — the second answer is the one that fails at the border.
- 03Mattress flammability is BS 7177 in the UK. It does not transfer to the EU and an EN 597 result does not transfer to the UK, so a mattress specified for one market is not automatically shippable to the other.
- 04Timber due diligence under UKTR is the importer's obligation, not the factory's. Ask for species, origin and FSC or PEFC documents at quotation stage.
- 05Fabric rub count is checked earlier in the UK than in most markets because contract and residential specifications diverge sharply, and UK buyers usually know which one they are buying.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Trip cost, before any furniture
| Line | Planning figure |
|---|---|
| Flights | GBP 550–900 return from Heathrow; a Heathrow nonstop usually beats a cheaper one-stop once the hotel night is counted |
| Hotel | Lecong or Chancheng, 4-star, about GBP 50–95 per night |
| Guide day | USD 150 guide only · USD 250 with car · USD 299 with a 7-seat SUV |
| VAT and duty | 20% VAT plus duty by commodity code, payable on import — budget it before you compare showroom prices |

Questions UK buyers ask
How long is the flight from London to Foshan?
About 11 to 12 hours nonstop from Heathrow or Gatwick to Guangzhou. Foshan has no international airport, so you transfer about an hour by road to Lecong, or take the Guangfo intercity rail to Foshan West.
Do UK passports need a visa for China?
No, for stays up to 30 days. The UK is on China's unilateral visa-free list, currently valid to 31 December 2026. Confirm with the embassy before booking, since the policy has been extended in stages and the term is not permanent.
Is there a direct flight from Manchester?
Not to Guangzhou. Manchester itineraries connect once, usually through Doha, Dubai, Istanbul or Amsterdam, which puts you at 15–17 hours. If the trip is short, the Heathrow nonstop usually wins on total cost once a hotel night is added.
Can you collect me from Heathrow-style arrival times and from other cities?
Yes. Pickup covers Guangzhou Baiyun, Shenzhen Bao'an, Hong Kong, Macau, Zhuhai, Dongguan and Zhongshan, plus Foshan West station. The driver tracks the flight and waits with a name board; a delayed landing does not cost you the transfer.
How many days do I need?
Four. Land, transfer and rest; one day in Lecong comparing against your list; one day in Longjiang seeing the factories behind the showrooms; one day for samples, custom work and sign-off. Add a day for cabinetry or a mixed container.
