Finland to Foshan: the connecting route and a narrow, deep brief
Helsinki has no nonstop to China, so the trip is long and the brief should be narrow. Finnish buyers tend to buy fewer, better pieces and ask about moisture behaviour before they ask about price.

Getting here
Schedules change with the season — confirm the operating carrier before booking. The airport code is the part that stays put.

- Drop at your hotel — or straight to a showroom if you land early, with parking and tolls settled
A 14:45 touchdown puts you at the hotel before lunch, with the afternoon free for a first visit.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Foshan has no international airport. The gateway you pick decides how much of your first day survives the landing.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port crossing stopped on 16 July 2026 and has not restarted. Any itinerary built on that ferry is already broken.
The days on the ground
Four days is the working minimum for anything beyond a single category. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.
- Day 1
Land and calibrate
Land and settle. An hour in Lecong is enough to reset your expectations before buying
- Day 2
Lecong showrooms
Yesterday was calibration. Today is the shortlist: Lecong, against your own list, priced line by line
- Day 3
Factories behind the malls
Longjiang or Nanzhuang — the factories behind the showrooms

Where the days are actually spent
Upholstery is where showroom prices and factory prices diverge most, so both ends are worth seeing.
Lecong 乐从
Trading malls and room-set showrooms. A hundred sofas in a morning, priced retail-facing. The shortlist starts here.
Longjiang 龙江
Upholstery and sofa factories, plus the material markets behind them. Where a showroom price gets explained.

Where to stay
Sleep near the malls and the trip gets shorter, not cheaper.

What Finnish buyers get caught on
- 01Finland is an EU market: CE where a directive applies, EUTR timber due diligence, 25.5% VAT on import.
- 02Solid-wood movement under central heating is a real Finnish concern. Ask how the supplier handles seasonal movement in doors and table tops, and get the answer in writing.
- 03230 V, Type C and F. Electrical documentation has to name the product, not the range.
- 04Helsinki is the port; the inland leg is short. Volumes are small, so consolidation with other Nordic orders is the usual route.
- 05Finnish buyers often specify in metric with tight tolerances. Send dimensions to the millimetre rather than the nearest centimetre.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Finnish buyers ask
How do I get from Finland to Foshan?
No nonstop. Helsinki connects via Doha, Istanbul or Hong Kong, then Guangzhou — 14 to 16 hours door to door.
Do Finnish passports need a visa for China?
No, up to 30 days. Finland is on China's unilateral visa-free list, currently valid to 31 December 2026.
What should I ask about solid wood?
How the factory accommodates seasonal movement. Central heating in Finland is dry enough to open a poorly built joint.
How many days do I need?
Four, and they should cover one or two categories properly rather than four badly.
Can I ship through a Baltic port instead?
Sometimes. Compare a Helsinki delivered quote with a Tallinn or Riga routing before choosing.
Elsewhere in Europe
A neighbouring market may suit the same container. These three share the region, not the paperwork.
