Sweden to Foshan: the connecting route, and how to run the spec
No nonstop from Stockholm, so the trip is long and the specification is what earns it. Swedish buyers ask about formaldehyde, repairability and where the timber came from before they ask the price.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Three doors into the Pearl River Delta. Which one you use is a fare decision; the ground leg is what moves your first showroom.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port passenger service was suspended on 16 July 2026 with no restart date announced. Older guides still recommend it.
The days on the ground
Four days is the working minimum for anything beyond a single category. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.
- Day 1
Land and calibrate
Arrival day. Transfer in, check in, and walk one mall so the prices stop being abstract
- Day 2
Lecong showrooms
Yesterday was calibration. Today is the shortlist: Lecong, against your own list, priced line by line
- Day 3
Factories behind the malls
Behind the showrooms today: Longjiang for upholstery, Nanzhuang if tiles are on the list
- Day 4
Samples and sign-off
Samples, custom pieces, then sign off and leave with a specification
Field noteIf the trip is only furniture, stay in Longjiang: you can cover several factories a day. Add Lecong if tiles are on the list.可乐家(装修记录), Xiaohongshu

Where the days are actually spent
Upholstery is where showroom prices and factory prices diverge most, so both ends are worth seeing.
Lecong 乐从
Where the trip starts: room-set showrooms, a hundred options before lunch, prices you can argue with.
Longjiang 龙江
Upholstery and sofa factories, plus the material markets behind them. Where a showroom price gets explained.

Where to stay
Sleep near the malls and the trip gets shorter, not cheaper.

What Swedish buyers get caught on
- 01Sweden is an EU market: CE where a directive applies, EUTR timber due diligence, 25% VAT on import.
- 02Formaldehyde and emissions documentation is often requested by Swedish retailers before the first order. Ask for CARB or E1-grade panel evidence at quotation.
- 03230 V, Type C and F. Nordic buyers specify repairable construction — replaceable covers, serviceable hardware — and will check it on the sample.
- 04Gothenburg is the usual port. The inland leg is short, so the freight advantage sits in consolidation rather than routing.
- 05Dark winters mean pale timber and matte finishes dominate the order. A showroom piece in a high-gloss dark finish will not travel well into a Swedish range.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Swedish buyers ask
How do I get from Sweden to Foshan?
No nonstop. Stockholm connects via Helsinki, Doha or Istanbul, then Guangzhou — 15 to 17 hours door to door.
Do Swedish passports need a visa for China?
No, up to 30 days. Sweden is on China's unilateral visa-free list, currently valid to 31 December 2026.
What documentation do Swedish retailers ask for?
Formaldehyde and emissions evidence on panels, plus timber origin under EUTR. Ask for both at quotation.
Is repairability really checked?
On the sample, yes. Replaceable covers and serviceable hardware are specification items, not selling points.
How many days do I need?
Four. The travel is long, so the brief has to be narrow enough to finish in them.
