Italy to Foshan: nonstop routes and a design-led showroom comparison
Rome and Milan both fly nonstop to Shenzhen, and Italian buyers arrive comparing design language before price. That is the useful version of this trip: bring a reference piece, not a catalogue page, and the comparison gets faster.

Schedules change with the season — confirm the operating carrier before booking. The airport code is the part that stays put.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Foshan has no international airport. The gateway you pick decides how much of your first day survives the landing.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port passenger service was suspended on 16 July 2026 with no restart date announced. Older guides still recommend it.
The days on the ground
Five days is the useful minimum for a whole home or a hotel brief. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.
- Day 1
Land and calibrate
Land and settle. An hour in Lecong is enough to reset your expectations before buying
- Day 2
Lecong showrooms
Yesterday was calibration. Today is the shortlist: Lecong, against your own list, priced line by line
- Day 3
Longjiang factories
Into Longjiang to see what the showroom price is actually made of — frame, foam, fabric, finish
- Day 4
Custom work and samples
Custom work and materials. By evening you should have a written recap, not a camera roll
- Day 5
Sign-off
Close it out: confirm the shortlist and leave with something you can sign from home

Where the days are actually spent
Contract pieces come from factories that already build to a fire and wear standard. Hotel and resort briefs need the contract line and the factory behind it in the same day.
Lecong 乐从
Trading malls and room-set showrooms. A hundred sofas in a morning, priced retail-facing. The shortlist starts here.
Longjiang 龙江
Upholstery and sofa factories, plus the material markets behind them. Where a showroom price gets explained.
Chancheng 禅城
The city centre. A practical base, flagship showrooms, kitchen and bathroom.
Dongguan 东莞
OEM and ODM factories built for export, roughly 90 minutes down the road.

Where to stay
Pick the base first; the room is the easy part.

What Italian buyers get caught on
- 01Italy is an EU market: CE where a directive applies, EUTR timber due diligence, 22% VAT on import. The importer holds the file.
- 02Italian contract and hospitality work often cites fire-performance standards by name. Ask which one before the sample is made, not after it fails.
- 03230 V, Type C, F and L. Italy keeps the Type L socket alongside the EU ones, so specify both or ship an adaptor with every piece.
- 04Milan-led buyers ask for Minotti- or Poliform-adjacent construction: frame timber, foam density, seam tolerance. Write those into the specification, because 'similar to' is not a specification.
- 05Italian importers often resell into the EU. A CE file that names the exact model travels; one that names a 'similar' model does not.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Italian buyers ask
How long is the flight from Italy to Foshan?
About 11 hours nonstop from Rome or Milan to Shenzhen, then roughly 80 minutes by road to Lecong.
Do Italian passports need a visa for China?
No, up to 30 days. Italy is on China's unilateral visa-free list, currently valid to 31 December 2026.
Why does Type L matter?
Italy keeps its own socket alongside the EU standard. Specify both plug types per item if the goods are going into Italian homes.
Can the factory match a Minotti-style spec?
Several can. What they cannot do is guess — send the construction detail you want matched, not a photograph.
How many days do I need?
Five. Italian buyers usually compare upholstery, case goods and lighting in one trip, and that takes the extra day.
