Slovakia to Foshan: the Vienna connection and a development-scale brief
Bratislava is an hour from Vienna, so most Slovak buyers fly out of Austria and land on the Vienna nonstop to Shenzhen. That connection changes the trip from two days of travel to one.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Foshan has no international airport. The gateway you pick decides how much of your first day survives the landing.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port crossing stopped on 16 July 2026 and has not restarted. Any itinerary built on that ferry is already broken.
The days on the ground
Four days is the working minimum for anything beyond a single category. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.
- Day 1
Land and calibrate
Arrival day. Transfer in, check in, and walk one mall so the prices stop being abstract
- Day 2
Lecong showrooms
Yesterday was calibration. Today is the shortlist: Lecong, against your own list, priced line by line
- Day 3
Factories behind the malls
Longjiang or Nanzhuang — the factories behind the showrooms
- Day 4
Samples and sign-off
Samples, custom pieces, then sign off and leave with a specification

Where the days are actually spent
Hotel and resort briefs need the contract line and the factory behind it in the same day.
Lecong 乐从
Where the trip starts: room-set showrooms, a hundred options before lunch, prices you can argue with.
Longjiang 龙江
Upholstery and sofa factories, plus the material markets behind them. Where a showroom price gets explained.
Dongguan 东莞
The export factories, 90 minutes away — for buyers who need a plant that already builds to a foreign standard.

The hotel is a routing decision before it is a comfort decision.

What Slovak buyers get caught on
- 01Slovakia is an EU market: CE where a directive applies, EUTR timber due diligence, 23% VAT on import.
- 02Most Slovak importers route through Koper or Hamburg, or fly via Vienna. Compare the Austrian and Slovak inland legs — the difference can exceed the freight itself.
- 03230 V, Type C and E. Earthed Type E is standard in Slovak installations.
- 04Development buyers need repeatable units across apartment blocks. Ask for the finish to be held constant across the run, in writing.
- 05Slovak buyers are price-aware and will compare against Polish and Czech suppliers as well as Chinese ones. The comparison has to be on one specification.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Slovak buyers ask
How do I get from Slovakia to Foshan?
No nonstop from Bratislava. Most buyers drive to Vienna and take the Shenzhen nonstop; otherwise connect once via Doha, Dubai or Istanbul.
Do Slovak passports need a visa for China?
No, up to 30 days. Slovakia is on China's unilateral visa-free list, currently valid to 31 December 2026.
Is Vienna a better departure point?
Usually yes — one hour by road to a nonstop saves a whole connection.
Which port?
Koper or Hamburg. Compare the Slovak inland leg against the Austrian one before choosing.
How many days do I need?
Four, because the trip is usually made once for a whole development.
Elsewhere in Europe
Buyers who come to Foshan rarely come alone: a household or a hotel brief often spans two markets.
