Singapore to Foshan: the short flight and the one-day showroom run
Four hours from Changi with no jet lag, so Singapore buyers treat Foshan as a day trip rather than an expedition. The constraint is not travel — it is GST, a compact floor plate, and a market that expects a high specification in a small apartment.

Entry rules for Singaporean travellers

- Drop at your hotel — or straight to a showroom if you land early, with parking and tolls settled

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Foshan has no international airport. The gateway you pick decides how much of your first day survives the landing.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port crossing stopped on 16 July 2026 and has not restarted. Any itinerary built on that ferry is already broken.
The days on the ground
Three days covers one or two categories. Add a day for cabinetry. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.

Where the days are actually spent
Upholstery is where showroom prices and factory prices diverge most, so both ends are worth seeing.
Lecong 乐从
The malls. Room sets, retail-facing prices, and enough sofas in one morning to make a shortlist from.
Longjiang 龙江
Sofa and upholstery factories. Come here after the malls, when you want to know what the price is made of.

What Singaporean buyers actually paid
Prices as they were said out loud on the day.
| What it shows | Their words |
|---|---|
| A 1.8 m two-seat sofa in a Lecong showroom was quoted at 2,500–2,699 RMB. | “1.8m is about 2,500 yuan. / Yes, it's 2,699 yuan.” |
| The same high-tech fabric sofa retails for at least 2,500–3,000 SGD in Singapore, against about 1,200 SGD in Foshan before shipping. | “In Singapore... At least 2.5k to 3k SGD. / If you buy it in Guangzhou... Foshan, it will be half the price. / About there. 1200 SGD.” |
| Showroom malls end their operating day at 18:30 — the air conditioning goes off and the smaller shops close. | “Because they end their operating hours at 6.30pm. So most of them are closing.” |
| A non-premium mall was about 20% cheaper than the premium mall for comparable stock. | “it's about 20% cheaper than the premium mall” |
| A bedside cabinet was quoted at 700 RMB. | “This bedside cabinet is 700 RMB for one.” |
| The buyers had already seen the showroom on Douyin and Xiaohongshu before flying, and bought within ten minutes of walking in. | “We went in, came out in 10 minutes. / What was it? Douyin? Douyin and Xiaohongshu.” |

What Singaporean buyers get caught on
- 01GST is 9% on import and is charged on the goods plus freight and insurance. A landed-cost comparison that ignores it will be wrong by roughly a tenth.
- 02Singapore has no duty on furniture, so the landed cost is mostly GST plus freight — which makes consolidation the main lever, not the negotiation.
- 03230 V and a Type G plug. Lighting is a frequent mistake: a fixture built for the Chinese domestic market will not pass.
- 04Apartments are compact, so dimensions, not styles, decide the shortlist. Ask for shop drawings before approving anything custom.
- 05Singapore buyers often buy for a single unit and expect the supplier to handle a small order; confirmation of MOQ per line matters more than the fee.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Singaporean buyers ask
How long does it take to get from Singapore to Foshan?
About four hours nonstop from Changi to Guangzhou, then about an hour by road to Lecong. With an early flight you can see two showrooms the same afternoon.
Do Singaporeans need a visa for China?
No. Singapore travels under a mutual visa exemption for up to 30 days, which is a different arrangement from China's unilateral waiver list and is not tied to the 31 December 2026 expiry of that list.
Can I do this as a day trip?
Yes, but a single day only works for one category and a pre-booked appointment. Most Singapore buyers fly out early and return the next evening, which covers two days of showrooms without a hotel-heavy trip.
Can you pick me up at Changi-style early arrivals?
Yes. Send the flight number; the driver waits in arrivals with a name board. Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau and Foshan West are all covered, though from Singapore you will almost always land at Guangzhou.
Does the 3–5% fee work on a small Singapore apartment order?
There is a USD 10,000 goods minimum. Below that, the fee does not cover the work, and a guided buying day at USD 150–299 is the more honest recommendation — we will say so rather than take the order.
