Landing, then the transfer
Every route ends the same way: an hour on the ground between the arrivals hall and Lecong.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port crossing stopped on 16 July 2026 and has not restarted. Any itinerary built on that ferry is already broken.

What Nepalese buyers get caught on
- 01Nepal is landlocked. Containers land at Kolkata and move overland to Birgunj, which adds a border crossing and several days to the schedule.
- 0213% VAT on import plus duty by commodity code, and the Birgunj transit adds cost before the goods ever reach Kathmandu.
- 03230 V, Type C and D. Both patterns are in use.
- 04The Kolkata–Birgunj route is the usual one, and the border can add days unpredictably. Build that into the delivery date rather than assuming the sailing time.
- 05Monsoon season affects road transport. If the delivery is time-critical, schedule it outside the worst weeks.
