Norway to Foshan: one stop, and a container that has to earn its freight
Oslo has no nonstop to China, and Norway sits outside the EU with the highest landed cost in Europe. That combination makes this the one market where packing density beats negotiation every time.

- Drop at your hotel — or straight to a showroom if you land early, with parking and tolls settled
A 11:20 touchdown puts you at the hotel before lunch, with the afternoon free for a first visit.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Three doors into the Pearl River Delta. Which one you use is a fare decision; the ground leg is what moves your first showroom.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port passenger service was suspended on 16 July 2026 with no restart date announced. Older guides still recommend it.
The days on the ground
Four days is the working minimum for anything beyond a single category. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.
- Day 1
Land and calibrate
Land, transfer, rest — then a short walk through Lecong to calibrate prices
- Day 2
Lecong showrooms
Yesterday was calibration. Today is the shortlist: Lecong, against your own list, priced line by line
- Day 3
Factories behind the malls
Today belongs to the workshops, in Longjiang or Nanzhuang
- Day 4
Samples and sign-off
Samples, custom pieces, then sign off and leave with a specification

Where the days are actually spent
Upholstery is where showroom prices and factory prices diverge most, so both ends are worth seeing.
Lecong 乐从
The malls. Room sets, retail-facing prices, and enough sofas in one morning to make a shortlist from.
Longjiang 龙江
Factory town for upholstery. The material markets behind it are where a showroom price stops being a mystery.

Where to stay
Where you sleep decides how much of the day you spend in a car.

What Norwegian buyers get caught on
- 01Norway is outside the EU but inside the EEA. CE marking applies where a directive covers the product; the customs entry is Norwegian, not EU.
- 0225% VAT on import plus duty, and a high general cost level. A container that arrives well packed and fully declared is worth more than a discount on the goods.
- 03230 V, Type C and F. Norwegian electrical requirements follow the EEA framework, and the documentation has to name the product.
- 04Oslo is the port; the inland leg is short but expensive. Consolidating several Norwegian buyers into one container is common practice for a reason.
- 05Norwegian buyers tend to be specification-led and price-insensitive relative to the rest of Europe. Finish and durability carry the decision.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Norwegian buyers ask
How do I get from Norway to Foshan?
No nonstop. Oslo connects via Helsinki, Doha or Istanbul, then Guangzhou — 15 to 17 hours door to door.
Do Norwegian passports need a visa for China?
No, up to 30 days. Norway is on China's unilateral visa-free list, currently valid to 31 December 2026.
Is Norway in the EU customs area?
No. The goods clear into Norway, so an EU landed cost does not apply even though CE marking does.
How do I reduce the landed cost?
Packing density and one consolidated container. At this duty and cost level, a badly packed box costs more than a negotiated discount saves.
How many days do I need?
Four, and they should be planned around one category rather than a full house.
Elsewhere in Europe
Buyers who come to Foshan rarely come alone: a household or a hotel brief often spans two markets.
