Belgium to Foshan: nonstop to Shenzhen, then a day in Lecong
Brussels to Shenzhen is a nonstop ten to eleven hours, which puts Belgian buyers closer to the Lecong factories than most of Europe. The market here is distributor-led, and a distributor needs a repeatable price, not a one-off deal.

- Drop at your hotel — or straight to a showroom if you land early, with parking and tolls settled
On a 11:20 landing the transfer reaches Lecong about an hour later — enough daylight for one showroom.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Every route ends the same way: an hour on the ground between the arrivals hall and Lecong.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port passenger service was suspended on 16 July 2026 with no restart date announced. Older guides still recommend it.
The days on the ground
Four days is the working minimum for anything beyond a single category. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.

Where the days are actually spent
Upholstery is where showroom prices and factory prices diverge most, so both ends are worth seeing.
Lecong 乐从
Trading malls and room-set showrooms. A hundred sofas in a morning, priced retail-facing. The shortlist starts here.
Longjiang 龙江
Factory town for upholstery. The material markets behind it are where a showroom price stops being a mystery.

Where to stay
Sleep near the malls and the trip gets shorter, not cheaper.
Sofitel Foshan 佛山罗浮宫索菲特酒店
Inside the Louvre furniture complex. You can walk from the lobby to the malls, which removes the daily commute that eats a sourcing trip.

Where to eat
Showroom days run long and the malls close at 18:30. These are worth walking to afterwards.

What Belgian buyers get caught on
- 01Belgium is an EU market: CE marking where a directive applies, EUTR timber due diligence, and 21% VAT on import. The importer carries the due-diligence file, not the factory.
- 02Product labels and instructions may need Dutch and French. Artwork changes are cheap before the cartons print and expensive after, so specify both languages on the purchase order.
- 03Antwerp is the usual container port and one of the cheapest entries into Europe. That advantage disappears if the packing list is vague, because demurrage eats it inside a week.
- 04220–240 V, Type E. A fixture built for the French or German market will physically fit Belgium; the certification file still has to name the product.
- 05Belgian buyers often resell into the Netherlands and France. If that is the plan, the specification has to satisfy three sets of retail expectations, so say so at quotation.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Belgian buyers ask
How long is the flight from Belgium to Foshan?
About ten to eleven hours nonstop from Brussels to Shenzhen, then roughly 80 minutes by road to Lecong.
Do Belgian passports need a visa for China?
No, up to 30 days. Belgium is on China's unilateral visa-free list, currently valid to 31 December 2026.
Which port should I ship to?
Antwerp for most importers, Rotterdam if the forwarder consolidates there. Both need the same EUTR file and a clean packing list.
Do I need Dutch and French labelling?
Ask your distributor. Bilingual packaging is common in Belgium and the change is cheapest before the cartons are printed.
How many days do I need?
Four: one in Lecong, one at the factories, one for samples and paperwork, one for sign-off.
