Mexico to Foshan: nonstop to Shenzhen, and NOM before the deposit
Mexico City flies nonstop to Shenzhen, which shortens a trip that used to need a US connection. NOM certification and Spanish labelling decide what can ship, and the tariff question has become as important as the price.

Getting here
Schedules change with the season — confirm the operating carrier before booking. The airport code is the part that stays put.
Entry rules for Mexican travellers
240-hour transit, visa otherwise. No 30-day waiver applies to this passport. Visa-free entry is possible only under the 240-hour transit policy, which needs an onward ticket to a third country.
Mexican passports get 240-hour transit visa-free; a visa is otherwise required.
- Without a visa
- In transit only, up to 240 hours
- Current term runs to
- 31 December 2026
- Visa on arrival
- No — port visas only for urgent business, with an invitation
- Airside transit
- Under 24 h, no visa if you stay airside
CarryOnward ticket to a third country · Hotel booking · Proof the route qualifies
Waivers were extended repeatedly through 2025–2026 and several expire on 31 December 2026. Confirm the current term with the Chinese embassy before paying for flights.
Airport pickup, $149 — refunded when you order

- Drop at your hotel — or straight to a showroom if you land early, with parking and tolls settled
On a 08:10 landing the transfer reaches Lecong about an hour later — enough daylight for one showroom.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Foshan has no international airport. The gateway you pick decides how much of your first day survives the landing.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port passenger service was suspended on 16 July 2026 with no restart date announced. Older guides still recommend it.
The days on the ground
Five days is the useful minimum for a whole home or a hotel brief. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.
- Day 1
Land and calibrate
Arrival day. Transfer in, check in, and walk one mall so the prices stop being abstract
- Day 2
Lecong showrooms
Yesterday was calibration. Today is the shortlist: Lecong, against your own list, priced line by line
- Day 3
Longjiang factories
Factory day in Longjiang. The same sofa, without the room set around it
- Day 4
Custom work and samples
The made-to-measure day: drawings, cabinet samples, and an evening recap in writing
- Day 5
Sign-off
Confirm the shortlist, agree deposits, and leave with a signable specification
Field noteA taxi across Lecong is roughly the flag-fall. It is cheaper than it feels and much faster than walking between blocks.老杨聊皮料, Xiaohongshu

Where the days are actually spent
Upholstery is where showroom prices and factory prices diverge most, so both ends are worth seeing.
Lecong 乐从
Where the trip starts: room-set showrooms, a hundred options before lunch, prices you can argue with.
Longjiang 龙江
Upholstery and sofa factories, plus the material markets behind them. Where a showroom price gets explained.

Where to stay
Sleep near the malls and the trip gets shorter, not cheaper.

What Mexican buyers get caught on
- 01Mexico applies 16% VAT on import plus duty by commodity code. Current tariff treatment for Chinese furniture has changed repeatedly, so confirm the rate for your line before pricing.
- 02NOM certification is mandatory for many products, and the labelling has to be in Spanish with the importer's details. Confirm the scope before production.
- 03127 V, Type A and B. Mexico is on the North American voltage and plug pattern, not the European one.
- 04Manzanillo and Lázaro Cárdenas are the container ports. The inland leg to Mexico City is long and security-managed, so use a carrier that handles it routinely.
- 05Mexican buyers often resell into the US. If that is the plan, the goods may need to satisfy both NOM and US requirements, which is a different specification.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Mexican buyers ask
How long is the flight from Mexico to Foshan?
About 15 to 16 hours nonstop from Mexico City to Shenzhen, then roughly 80 minutes by road to Lecong.
Do Mexican passports need a visa for China?
Usually yes. Mexico is on the 240-hour transit list; visa-free entry needs an onward ticket to a third country.
What is NOM?
The Mexican official standard, mandatory for many products, with Spanish labelling and the importer's details.
Is the tariff stable?
No. Treatment of Chinese furniture has changed repeatedly — confirm the current rate for your code before pricing.
How many days do I need?
Four: one in Lecong, one at the factories, one for samples and paperwork, one to sign.
Elsewhere in North America
A neighbouring market may suit the same container. These three share the region, not the paperwork.
