Landing, then the transfer

Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port crossing stopped on 16 July 2026 and has not restarted. Any itinerary built on that ferry is already broken.

Hotel and resort briefs need the contract line and the factory behind it in the same day. Outdoor pieces are judged on material and finish, which is easier at the factory.

The malls. Room sets, retail-facing prices, and enough sofas in one morning to make a shortlist from.
Longjiang 龙江
Factory town for upholstery. The material markets behind it are where a showroom price stops being a mystery.
Dongguan 东莞
The export factories, 90 minutes away — for buyers who need a plant that already builds to a foreign standard.

What UAE buyers get caught on
- 01The UAE applies 5% VAT at import plus a 5% customs duty on most goods, so the landed cost is roughly the ex-works price plus freight plus a tenth.
- 02Electrical products need ECAS registration and, for some categories, EQM. Lighting without a certificate is a recurring problem in hotel fit-outs.
- 03230 V, Type G plug. A fixture specified for the Saudi or Indian market is not automatically acceptable.
- 04Hotel and villa projects here often need a model room approved before bulk production, which changes the calendar — the trip should end with a sample, not just a shortlist.
- 05Summer heat and humidity mean outdoor furniture is judged on finish and frame, not on the showroom photograph. Ask for the salt-spray and colour-fastness result.

Questions UAE buyers ask
How long is the flight from the UAE to Foshan?
Seven and a half to eight hours nonstop from Dubai to Guangzhou, and a similar time from Abu Dhabi to Guangzhou or Shenzhen. Then about an hour by road to Lecong.
Do UAE passports need a visa for China?
Not always, but not under the 30-day waiver. UAE passports are on China's 240-hour transit list, which requires an onward ticket to a third country. For a normal sourcing trip, an M or L visa is the reliable route.
Can I really do this in two days?
Yes, for one category or a shortlist already narrowed by video. Fly out on a morning departure, inspect on day two, approve and return on the evening flight. Add a day if a model room or samples are involved.
Can you collect me from Dubai-style late departures?
Yes. The driver tracks the flight and waits in arrivals with a name board. Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau, Zhuhai, Dongguan and Zhongshan are all covered, and a two-day trip has no slack for a missed transfer.
Is 5% duty the whole cost?
It is the customs duty, not the landed cost. Add freight, 5% VAT and any ECAS or testing cost for electrical goods. Our quotations list the ex-works price and the service fee separately so the duty can be calculated on the right base.
