Landing, then the transfer
Every route ends the same way: an hour on the ground between the arrivals hall and Lecong.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port crossing stopped on 16 July 2026 and has not restarted. Any itinerary built on that ferry is already broken.

Hotel and resort briefs need the contract line and the factory behind it in the same day. Outdoor pieces are judged on material and finish, which is easier at the factory.

What Maldivian buyers get caught on
- 01The Maldives applies GST on goods plus a tourism goods and services tax on the resort side. Confirm both with your broker; the resort tax changes the project budget, not just the import bill.
- 02Resort projects need salt-resistant finishes and repeatable villa packages. Ask for the salt-spray result before approving an outdoor frame.
- 03230 V, Type G and D. Both the UK and Indian patterns appear on resort islands.
- 04Malé is the transhipment point, and every resort adds a boat leg. Packing has to fit the vessel, the jetty and the villa door, in that order.
- 05Villa packages repeat across an island. A finish that holds across 40 villas is worth more than a discount on one.
