Waivers were extended repeatedly through 2025–2026 and several expire on 31 December 2026. Confirm the current term with the Chinese embassy before paying for flights.

Landing, then the transfer
Every route ends the same way: an hour on the ground between the arrivals hall and Lecong.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port passenger service was suspended on 16 July 2026 with no restart date announced. Older guides still recommend it.

What Kazakh buyers get caught on
- 01Kazakhstan applies 12% VAT on import plus duty under the EAEU common tariff. The union tariff is the reference point, not a national rate.
- 02EAC certification applies to a wide range of goods under the customs union. Confirm the scope before production.
- 03220 V, Type C and F. Kazakh installations are the EU pattern.
- 04The usual route is rail through Khorgos or Dostyk, or sea to a Chinese port then rail. The overland route is often faster than sea for this distance.
- 05Kazakh buyers source for apartments and small hotels. Chinese-language negotiation is often direct, but the written specification still sets the price.
