Indonesia to Foshan: nonstop to Guangzhou, and the SNI questions
Jakarta flies nonstop to Guangzhou in about five hours, and Indonesian buyers face a constraint most markets do not: SNI conformity and a long domestic distribution chain. Consolidation matters as much as price.

Schedules change with the season — confirm the operating carrier before booking. The airport code is the part that stays put.
Entry rules for Indonesian travellers
240-hour transit, visa otherwise. No 30-day waiver applies to this passport. Visa-free entry is possible only under the 240-hour transit policy, which needs an onward ticket to a third country.
Indonesian passports get 240-hour transit visa-free; a visa is otherwise required.
- Without a visa
- In transit only, up to 240 hours
- Current term runs to
- 31 December 2026
- Visa on arrival
- No — port visas only for urgent business, with an invitation
- Airside transit
- Under 24 h, no visa if you stay airside

Waivers were extended repeatedly through 2025–2026 and several expire on 31 December 2026. Confirm the current term with the Chinese embassy before paying for flights.

- Drop at your hotel — or straight to a showroom if you land early, with parking and tolls settled
A 14:45 touchdown puts you at the hotel before lunch, with the afternoon free for a first visit.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Every route ends the same way: an hour on the ground between the arrivals hall and Lecong.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. That route closed in July 2026 with no published reopening. Road or high-speed rail is the way in.
The days on the ground
Three days covers one or two categories. Add a day for cabinetry. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.
- Day 1
Land and start
Land in the morning, transfer, and take two Lecong showrooms before dinner
- Day 2
Longjiang factories
Longjiang factories for upholstery, frames and materials
- Day 3
Samples and out
Morning on samples and custom pieces; the afternoon is the airport or one more category

Where the days are actually spent
Hotel and resort briefs need the contract line and the factory behind it in the same day. Outdoor pieces are judged on material and finish, which is easier at the factory.
Lecong 乐从
Where the trip starts: room-set showrooms, a hundred options before lunch, prices you can argue with.
Longjiang 龙江
Upholstery and sofa factories, plus the material markets behind them. Where a showroom price gets explained.
Dongguan 东莞
OEM and ODM factories built for export, roughly 90 minutes down the road.

Where to stay
Sleep near the malls and the trip gets shorter, not cheaper.

What Indonesian buyers get caught on
- 01Indonesia applies 11% VAT on import plus duty by commodity code, and an income-tax withholding on some imports. Budget the full landed cost, not the headline rate.
- 02SNI certification is mandatory for a range of products, and the import licence (API-U) has to be in place before the goods arrive. Confirm both before production.
- 03230 V, Type C and F. Indonesian installations are the EU pattern.
- 04Tanjung Priok serves Jakarta; Surabaya serves the east. Domestic distribution is slow, so a single consolidated shipment beats several small ones.
- 05Bali villa and resort projects need finishes that survive humidity. Ask for the salt and humidity specification before approving an outdoor frame.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Indonesian buyers ask
How long is the flight from Indonesia to Foshan?
About five hours nonstop from Jakarta to Guangzhou, then roughly an hour by road to Lecong.
Do Indonesian passports need a visa for China?
Usually yes. Indonesia is on the 240-hour transit list; visa-free entry needs an onward ticket to a third country.
What is SNI and do I need it?
The Indonesian national standard, mandatory for a range of products. Check the list before production.
Why consolidate?
Domestic distribution is slow and expensive. One shipment to one port is usually cheaper than three.
How many days do I need?
Three to four, because the paperwork conversation takes a session of its own.
Elsewhere in Asia
A neighbouring market may suit the same container. These three share the region, not the paperwork.
