What Hungarian buyers get caught on
- 01Hungary is an EU market: CE where a directive applies, EUTR timber due diligence, and 27% VAT on import — the highest standard rate in the EU.
- 02Because the VAT is recoverable for a registered business but must be funded at clearance, cash flow matters as much as the rate. Budget for it before the container ships.
- 03230 V, Type C and F. Hungarian installations are standard EU.
