Bulgaria to Foshan: the connecting route and a hard price comparison
Sofia has no nonstop, so Bulgarian buyers often connect through Istanbul or Doha. The market is contract-led — hotels and offices — and the price discipline is sharp because Turkish and Greek suppliers are a short drive away.

Getting here
Schedules change with the season — confirm the operating carrier before booking. The airport code is the part that stays put.

Airport pickup, $149 — refunded when you order
- Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Macau, Zhuhai, Dongguan, Zhongshan
- Drop at your hotel — or straight to a showroom if you land early, with parking and tolls settled
On a 06:40 landing the transfer reaches Lecong about an hour later — enough daylight for one showroom.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Foshan has no international airport. The gateway you pick decides how much of your first day survives the landing.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port passenger service was suspended on 16 July 2026 with no restart date announced. Older guides still recommend it.
The days on the ground
Four days is the working minimum for anything beyond a single category. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.

Where the days are actually spent
Contract pieces come from factories that already build to a fire and wear standard. Hotel and resort briefs need the contract line and the factory behind it in the same day. Workspace projects sit closer to the export factories than to the Lecong malls.
Lecong 乐从
The malls. Room sets, retail-facing prices, and enough sofas in one morning to make a shortlist from.
Longjiang 龙江
Sofa and upholstery factories. Come here after the malls, when you want to know what the price is made of.
Chancheng 禅城
The city centre. A practical base, flagship showrooms, kitchen and bathroom.
Dongguan 东莞
The export factories, 90 minutes away — for buyers who need a plant that already builds to a foreign standard.

Where to stay
Pick the base first; the room is the easy part.

What Bulgarian buyers get caught on
- 01Bulgaria is an EU market: CE where a directive applies, EUTR timber due diligence, 20% VAT on import.
- 02Cyrillic labelling is required for consumer information in Bulgaria. Ask the factory for artwork in Cyrillic before the cartons are printed.
- 03230 V, Type C and F. Bulgarian installations are standard EU.
- 04Varna and Burgas on the Black Sea are alternatives to the long haul from Koper or Hamburg. The inland saving can be worth more than the freight difference.
- 05Bulgarian buyers negotiate against Turkish suppliers as a matter of course. The written specification is what makes the comparison fair.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.
