Estonia to Foshan: the connecting route, and paperwork that keeps up
Tallinn has no direct route to China, and Estonian buyers are digital-first: they expect the specification, the quotation and the inspection report as documents, not as messages.

- Drop at your hotel — or straight to a showroom if you land early, with parking and tolls settled
14–16 h in the air, then about an hour of motorway. A 09:35 landing still leaves the afternoon.

A paid service, not a free transfer: one arrival, one vehicle, one drop-off. Parking included; tolls at cost. The credit is valid for six months from your arrival date.
Landing, then the transfer
Three doors into the Pearl River Delta. Which one you use is a fare decision; the ground leg is what moves your first showroom.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port passenger service was suspended on 16 July 2026 with no restart date announced. Older guides still recommend it.
The days on the ground
Four days is the working minimum for anything beyond a single category. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.
- Day 1
Land and calibrate
Arrival day. Transfer in, check in, and walk one mall so the prices stop being abstract
- Day 2
Lecong showrooms
Yesterday was calibration. Today is the shortlist: Lecong, against your own list, priced line by line
- Day 3
Factories behind the malls
Today belongs to the workshops, in Longjiang or Nanzhuang
- Day 4
Samples and sign-off
Samples and the custom list, then sign-off before the airport run
Field noteMalls open around 09:00 and shut at 18:00. Nothing is open in the evening, so plan the day backwards from six.琳琳聊家具, Xiaohongshu
Field noteCollect the best price at each shop, go home, then compare the shops against the trade fair before committing. The gap is worth the extra week.木子的家(硬装中), Xiaohongshu
Where the days are actually spent
Workspace projects sit closer to the export factories than to the Lecong malls.
Lecong 乐从
Where the trip starts: room-set showrooms, a hundred options before lunch, prices you can argue with.
Longjiang 龙江
Factory town for upholstery. The material markets behind it are where a showroom price stops being a mystery.
Dongguan 东莞
Export-oriented OEM and ODM factories, about 90 minutes away.

Where to stay
Pick the base first; the room is the easy part.
Sofitel Foshan 佛山罗浮宫索菲特酒店

What Estonian buyers get caught on
- 01Estonia is an EU market: CE where a directive applies, EUTR timber due diligence, 22% VAT on import.
- 02Muuga and Tallinn are the ports, with short inland legs. Volumes are small, so consolidation with other Baltic orders is normal.
- 03230 V, Type C and F. Estonian installations are standard EU.
- 04Documentation quality matters here more than in most markets. A quotation that cannot be filed as a PDF is a quotation that will be questioned.
- 05Projects are compact: apartments and small offices. The order is rarely large, so minimum quantities per line are the first constraint.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Estonian buyers ask
How do I get from Estonia to Foshan?
No nonstop. Tallinn connects via Helsinki, Doha or Istanbul, then Guangzhou — 14 to 16 hours.
Do Estonian passports need a visa for China?
No, up to 30 days. Estonia is on China's unilateral visa-free list, currently valid to 31 December 2026.
What documentation should I expect?
A written quotation, a specification, and an inspection report. Ask for all three before the deposit.
How many days do I need?
Four, and they should be enough for one compact project.
Elsewhere in Europe
Buyers who come to Foshan rarely come alone: a household or a hotel brief often spans two markets.
