Brazil to Foshan: the long route, and an order that has to carry 60% duty
Brazil has no nonstop to China, so the trip is a long one — usually via Doha, Dubai or Addis. Import duty can exceed 60% on furniture, which means the trip has to justify itself on specification and consolidation, not on one cheap sofa.

Landing, then the transfer
Every route ends the same way: an hour on the ground between the arrivals hall and Lecong.
Do not plan on the Hong Kong ferry. The Shunde Port crossing stopped on 16 July 2026 and has not restarted. Any itinerary built on that ferry is already broken.
The days on the ground
Five days is the useful minimum for a whole home or a hotel brief. Appointments are booked before you land, and each evening you get a written recap of what you saw and what is still open.
- Day 1
Land and calibrate
Land, transfer, rest — then a short walk through Lecong to calibrate prices
- Day 2
Lecong showrooms
Yesterday was calibration. Today is the shortlist: Lecong, against your own list, priced line by line
- Day 3
Longjiang factories
Factory day in Longjiang. The same sofa, without the room set around it
- Day 4
Custom work and samples
The made-to-measure day: drawings, cabinet samples, and an evening recap in writing

Field noteDo not drive yourself. The factory lanes are narrow, the traffic is aggressive, and you will arrive at the showroom tired. Taxis between stops are cheap.食盐吃不胖(完工版, Xiaohongshu

Where the days are actually spent
Upholstery is where showroom prices and factory prices diverge most, so both ends are worth seeing.
Lecong 乐从
Where the trip starts: room-set showrooms, a hundred options before lunch, prices you can argue with.
Longjiang 龙江
Factory town for upholstery. The material markets behind it are where a showroom price stops being a mystery.

What Brazilian buyers get caught on
- 01Brazilian import duty on furniture is high and layered with state ICMS and federal contributions. Get the full landed cost from a Brazilian broker before comparing any supplier — the ex-works price is a fraction of the number.
- 02INMETRO certification applies to a range of products, and ANATEL to anything with a radio. Confirm the scope before production.
- 03127 V and 220 V coexist, with Type N plugs and the older Type C. Specify the voltage per item and per region — this is the single most common Brazilian ordering error.
- 04Santos serves São Paulo and is the usual gateway. The inland leg and the customs process are both slow, so build weeks, not days, into the delivery date.
- 05Brazilian buyers often need Portuguese labelling and a local importer of record. Confirm who holds that role before the goods ship.
Practical specification checks, not certification advice. Confirm current requirements with your importer or testing body.

Questions Brazilian buyers ask
How do I get from Brazil to Foshan?
No nonstop. São Paulo connects once via Doha, Dubai, Addis Ababa or Hong Kong — 26 to 30 hours door to door.
Do Brazilian passports need a visa for China?
No, up to 30 days. Brazil is on China's unilateral visa-free list, currently valid to 31 December 2026.
How much duty will I pay?
Furniture duty in Brazil is high, and ICMS is added on top. Ask a Brazilian broker for the full landed cost before comparing suppliers.
Which voltage should I specify?
Both. Brazil uses 127 V and 220 V depending on the region, with Type N sockets. Specify per item.
How many days do I need?
Five, because the flight is long and the landed-cost conversation takes a session of its own.
