An inspection record with both completed and open actions

Source Foshan’s furniture inspection archive records a pre-shipment check and a later reinspection. The record distinguishes items reported as meeting the specification from items still needing corrective work.

The final summary records the overall status as pending, with shipment held until outstanding work passes reinspection.

What changed after inspection

Item Recorded issue Status in the record
Dining table Paint and edge-detail touch-ups. Reported completed and checked at reinspection.
Dining chair One chair was unfinished at the first inspection. Later reported completed.
Red marble side table Undersized top and base-finishing issues. Top remade; base pad, paint and welding work remained open.
Nightstand Hardware installation and assembly gaps. Rework ongoing; final acceptance pending.
Desk Metal trim and edge finishing. Communication and summary entries differ; final status cannot be established from this record.
Summary of the supplied inspection and follow-up record. These are the statuses recorded at that stage, not a claim of final shipment or delivery.

Why individual item status matters

A corrected tabletop does not close an unresolved base-finishing issue. An order can contain accepted items and open actions at the same time. Keep each issue tied to the relevant product, the agreed requirement, the supplier’s corrective action and the next review decision.

For your project, agree the inspection coverage in writing. Record the drawing or sample reference, observed defect, photographs, responsible party and acceptance decision. Use a dated release decision when the required checks and corrections are complete.

What this record establishes

This case supports a practical example of defect reporting, supplier follow-up and a hold pending further reinspection. It does not establish a final shipment release, delivery date, repair cost or numerical defect rate. The dimensional pages include specification values and photographs, but no complete measured-results table or agreed tolerance record.

Review the furniture inspection checklist, QC report template and responsibility matrix when defining the records for your own order.

Does a passed item mean the whole order is released?

No. In this record, some items were reported as passed while other work remained open. Shipment release is a separate decision tied to the agreed checks and unresolved issues.
