Foshan to Los Angeles: A Whole-Home Order Loaded in a 40HQ on 13 June, Delivered, Assembled and Cleared on 17 July

A whole-home order for a house in Los Angeles County (CA 91214): living room, dining, bedrooms, dresser and desk, a long dining table with ten chairs and a home-cinema row of recliners. Enough for a full 40-foot high-cube container of its own.

We collected the pieces from their factories to our Foshan warehouse, reinforced the fragile items, had everything in by 12 June and loaded the 40HQ on 13 June.

Delivered to the door on the agreed date, 17 July 2026. Uncrating started at 13:20; by 18:34 the beds, sofas, dining sets and cinema seats were assembled and in their rooms; packaging waste was cleared from the street by 18:50.

A full container gives the client the whole house in one delivery, one crew and one day — if someone in Foshan has collected, checked and packed it as one shipment.
A whole-home order is a logistics project before it is a furniture order. Seven or eight factories, forty-odd pieces, glass, marble and leather in the same box, a delivery address 11,000 km away and a family who would like to sleep in the new bed the night it arrives. This is what that looks like when it is run from Foshan as one shipment. Source Foshan collected the order from its factories, loaded the 40HQ and ran the installation day.

The pieces came from different factories on different days. Each was checked against the order on arrival at our warehouse, and the fragile ones — marble tops, glass fronts, the long dining table — got reinforced crating rather than the factory carton. On 12 June the last piece was in; on 13 June the container was loaded with the heavy crates low and forward and the upholstered pieces braced above them.

Full container, the client’s cargo only — no deconsolidation handling at the other end.
- Sea leg, clearance, delivery booking
Delivery date agreed with the client in advance.

Container contents transferred to a box truck for the residential street; crates on the driveway by 12:36.
- Uncrating and assembly
Crates opened on the porch, pieces carried in, floors covered; sofa legs fitted, hydraulic storage bed assembled.
- Rooms finished
Living room, both dining sets, bedrooms and the cinema row in place.
- Packaging cleared
Crates, cardboard and wrap collected from the street and taken away.
The last photo of the day is the one clients care about most: the crates, cardboard and wrap going, not staying. The street was clear before the crew left.

- One warehouse, one shipment
Forty-odd pieces from several factories are collected, checked and crated in Foshan as a single order, so the container is packed once and packed properly.
- A delivery date you can plan around
The container was loaded 13 June and at the house 17 July, on the date agreed. Full-container shipments avoid the shared-warehouse handling that makes LCL dates drift.
- Assembly with protection
Floors covered, crates opened outside, beds and sofas assembled in the room — the same crew, the same afternoon.
- Nothing left on the driveway
Packaging waste is part of the job. It left with the truck at 18:50.
Questions buyers ask about full-container orders
How much furniture fills a 40HQ container?
A 40-foot high-cube holds about 68–76 cubic metres. Crated, that is typically a whole 4–5 bedroom house: living, dining, bedrooms, study and outdoor pieces. Above roughly 28 cubic metres a full 20-foot or 40-foot container is usually cheaper and safer than LCL, because your cargo is not handled at shared warehouses.
How long from loading in Foshan to delivery in California?
In this case 34 days: loaded 13 June, delivered 17 July 2026. Sea transit to Los Angeles is typically 2–3 weeks; the rest is export and import clearance and booking the residential delivery. Our buying guide lists typical transit times by destination.
Who assembles the furniture when it arrives?
On a Source Foshan project the delivery crew does: unload, carry-in, uncrating, assembly, positioning and packaging removal are scoped together, with floor protection laid before the first piece comes in. Confirm this in writing with any shipper — a freight quote to the door usually stops at the door.
