Foshan Furniture Market Guide: Showrooms, Prices & Buying Routes

Foshan's furniture market is a set of neighbouring areas that each sell in a different way: Lecong's malls sell finished pieces from stock with no minimum, Longjiang's factory showrooms take made-to-order upholstery from about 10–30 pieces, and Nanhai's specialist markets cover lighting, metal furniture and mattresses. A focused buyer covers a whole-home list in 2–3 days. Mall showrooms open about 9:00–18:30 every day; the only real closures are Chinese New Year and the National Day week. Source Foshan, a sourcing team based in Foshan, runs guided buying days from USD 150 and handles orders, inspection and consolidation afterwards.

Lecong, Louvre, Longjiang or Nanhai: which area suits your shopping list?

Go to Lecong for finished pieces you can compare across brands in a day, the Louvre when the budget is upper-mid to high and you want the widest range in one building, Longjiang when the order is custom upholstery or a hotel package that needs a factory, and Nanhai when the list includes lighting, metal or aluminium furniture and mattresses. Each area sells in a different mode, so the shopping list decides the route rather than the other way round. Tap a pin.

Markets, showrooms and factories: what are the three ways to buy?

At a wholesale market you buy from stock and pay on the spot; in a brand showroom you place an order against a displayed model and pay a deposit; at a factory you approve a specification and pay against production milestones. Most whole-home and hotel orders use all three, which is why the paperwork and the payment discipline change from one stop to the next.

  • You orderSpecification, drawing or sample, then a pro-forma invoice
  • You payDeposit to the company account after the pro-forma invoice; balance after inspection
  • You leave withPro-forma invoice, business licence copy, agreed drawings and material list

The difference that matters most is who holds the risk after you leave. A market purchase is complete when you carry the goods out. A showroom order sits with a dealer who may or may not own the factory, so ask where the piece is made and whether it will be packed for export, because domestic packing is a plastic sleeve and a pallet at best. A factory order gives the most control over construction and packing and the least English on the floor. The licence, registry and bank-account checks that apply before any deposit are in the guide to verifying China furniture manufacturers.

03

What do categories cost in Foshan, and what are the MOQs and order modes?

Indicatively, ex-works Foshan prices in 2026 run from about USD 60 for an upholstered dining chair to USD 3,000 for a three-seat leather sofa, and the minimum order depends less on the category than on whether the piece already exists in stock. The bands are planning figures quoted before packing, freight and duty; the same model in two fabrics or two board grades can differ by 40%.

  • Stock or made-to-orderBoth; most orders made-to-order in your fabric
  • Typical lead timeStock 1–2 weeks; made-to-order 30–45 days
Ex-works is not the landed price: add export packing (3–8% of goods value), local delivery to the consolidation warehouse, ocean freight, insurance, destination charges and duties before comparing with retail at home.
Three rules that keep the bands useful

The spread between the lowest and highest price for what looks like the same piece is usually frame timber, foam density, fabric abrasion rating or board grade, so ask for the specification before comparing numbers. MOQs fall when you take a factory's stock fabric or standard size and rise when you ask for a new dimension or finish. Lead times start when the deposit lands and the specification is signed, not when you shake hands in the showroom.

Hotel quantities

For guestroom quantities and the model-room procedure, the hotel furniture sourcing guide goes deeper; for the standards contract pieces must pass, see contract furniture sourcing.

04

How many days do you need in the Foshan furniture market?

One day covers a single category in Lecong, two days cover a whole-home list, three days add factories and one specialist area, and five days let you approve samples and place every order before you fly home. The decisive variable is not the length of the list but how many suppliers you need to see twice, because second visits are where prices and specifications get fixed.

1day
The Louvre or two Lecong malls

One category or one room. Outcome: a shortlist with photos and prices, orders only for stock items.

Suits buyers adding a day to a fair trip or furnishing a single room
2days
Lecong malls, then Longjiang factories

Outcome: a shortlist for every room, deposits on 3–6 items and fabric samples collected.

Suits homeowners furnishing a whole home and small studios
3days
+ Nanhai or Nanzhuang + second visits

Outcome: most orders confirmed in writing, specifications signed and a consolidation address agreed.

Suits whole-home projects with surfaces and lighting, and boutique hotels
5days
+ one Dongguan day + buffer

Outcome: every order placed, first-article dates fixed and a container plan drafted.

Suits designers with 40+ line items, hotel FF&E teams and wholesale buyers
  • Lecong malls
  • Longjiang factories
  • Specialist areas
  • Dongguan

Give every plan a half-day buffer, because showroom visits run long when a piece needs measuring or a factory is 40 minutes further than the map suggests. If your dates can move, the China furniture fairs calendar shows when Longjiang holds its March and August fairs (spring 2026 ran 17–20 March) and when CIFF fills Guangzhou hotels; fair weeks put more new models on the floor and leave fewer quiet moments with the sales manager.

05

Route maps: what does a day-by-day itinerary look like?

The routes follow driving time, opening hours and the order in which decisions get made: see the range first, price the shortlist second, and visit the factory that will build the biggest items last. Each assumes a private car and a 9:00 start.

  1. Louvre International Furniture Exhibition Center

Work the two floors that match your style tier; photograph every candidate with its price tag and the showroom's WeChat code.

  2. Lunch inside the Louvre or on Lecong Avenue

Use the time to sort photos into rooms.

  3. Sunlink North, or Empire and IFEC

Mid-market comparison at Sunlink; hotel and trade ranges at Shunde Empire and IFEC. Ask for trade prices in writing on the morning's shortlist.

  4. Back to the two or three strongest showrooms

Collect fabric and finish samples and confirm lead times. The Lecong showroom listings give the venues by category.

Comparing like for like before asking for a trade price
End of day 1Shortlist per room with photos, ticket prices and WeChat contacts; samples in the bag.

Swap the order if your biggest budget line is a custom item: do Longjiang first so the factory's lead time starts earliest, and use Lecong to fill the remaining rooms from stock. Buyers based in Chancheng should put Nanzhuang at the start or end of a day, since it sits on the opposite side of the city from Lecong.

06

Appointments, opening hours and common risks: what should you check before you go?

Malls open every day; factories keep office hours and receive visitors by appointment only. Confirm before travelling.

07

How much does a three-day Foshan buying trip cost?

Roughly USD 700–1,500 on the ground, excluding flights and purchases: a business or mid-range hotel, a car with a driver or guided days, meals and a modest sample budget. The largest variable is the car, because Lecong has no metro station and the malls, factories and specialist areas sit 15–40 minutes apart.

  • Hotel, budget businessLecong mall area, chain hotel next to the malls3 × $25–45
  • Ride-hailing onlyDiDi between Chancheng, Lecong and Longjiang3 × $30–60

  • Total, 3 daysexcluding flights and purchases; no guide, no private car~$700

Stay in Lecong if the whole trip is furniture: saves 60–80 min of driving a day
Getting there

Fly into Guangzhou Baiyun (CAN), about 40 minutes by car; from Hong Kong, the high-speed train to Foshan West. Airport transfer runs about RMB 130–200 each way; a private car with a Chinese-speaking driver (no sourcing support) is USD 90–140 for 8–10 hours. What a guided day includes and excludes is set out on the Foshan buying visit page.

08

How do you negotiate and place orders on the spot?

Negotiate on a written specification, not on the ticket, and place the order only when the confirmation lists item, dimensions, materials, finish codes, quantity, unit price, packing method, lead time, delivery point and payment terms. Mall tickets carry room for a 20–50% trade discount, factory prices carry less, and the fastest way to lose that margin is to ask for a discount before the showroom knows what you are buying.

  1. Show the list, not the pieceOpen with the room list and quantities so you are priced as a project.
  2. Ask for the specification firstFrame timber, foam density, fabric abrasion, board grade E0/E1, finish code, hardware brand.
  3. Trade price in writing, then compareTwo comparable showrooms or one factory, same spec.
  4. Packing and delivery point in the priceYour Foshan consolidation warehouse, not an extra after the deposit.
  5. Lead time as a ship-ready dateWith a photo-update schedule.
  6. Deposit by bank transferTo the company account on the licence. WeChat Pay for samples, not deposits.
  7. Leave with the paperworkSigned confirmation, licence copy, sales contact on WeChat; summary message the same evening.

For container-scale quantities, exclusive models or repeat programmes the conversation changes: pricing is per model per year, tooling and packaging are negotiated separately, and payment moves towards letters of credit or milestone schedules. The China furniture wholesale guide covers that footing.

09

What happens after the market: consolidation and shipping

Each supplier produces on its own timeline, so the practical task is to give every order one destination: a consolidation warehouse in Foshan or Sanshui that receives, checks, repacks where needed and loads everything into one container or one LCL booking. Without it, five suppliers mean five deliveries, five packing standards and five sets of paperwork.

  1. One address on every orderThe warehouse address and a delivery window on every confirmation before you leave Foshan.
  2. Inspect before each balancePhotographs, measurements against the drawing, a defect log with actions.
  3. Repack domestic packingStone, glass and mirrors into wooden crates; upholstery gets foam, corner protection and a moisture barrier.
  4. Plan the container by roomUnloading order, a load plan with photos and the seal number.
  5. Export documentsCommercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading and any certificate the destination requires.

Inspection and packing standards are on the quality control and shipping page; the document list, Incoterms and transit times are in the step-by-step guide to buying furniture from China. Typical timing from the last deposit to departure is 6–10 weeks when the longest custom item sets the pace.

How Source Foshan helps you work the market

Source Foshan is a local sourcing team based in Chancheng, Foshan, working across Shunde, Nanhai and Dongguan. It is not a manufacturer, a marketplace or a broker directory. For buyers who come in person it runs guided buying days; after the visit the same team confirms orders, tracks production with weekly photo updates, runs a 7-checkpoint inspection with a pre-shipment photo and video report you approve before the balance, packs to a written export standard and consolidates everything into one shipment. The service fee is quoted upfront and shown separately from factory prices.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can I walk into a Lecong showroom without an appointment?

Yes. The Louvre, Sunlink and the other Lecong malls are open to the public every day, and each brand showroom inside them has sales staff on the floor. An appointment only matters when you want the showroom's manager for a pricing meeting on a long list, or when you want to visit the factory behind the showroom, which is usually in Longjiang and needs a booked contact at the gate.

Do Foshan showrooms accept foreign credit cards?

Rarely at the counter. Most showrooms and market stalls take WeChat Pay and Alipay, and both apps now link to foreign Visa and Mastercard cards, which covers samples and small stock purchases. Order deposits should go by bank transfer to the company account named on the supplier's business licence, and some suppliers accept USD for small amounts; ask before you travel if you need to pay any other way.

Is the Louvre more expensive than the other Lecong malls?

Usually, yes. The Louvre positions itself as the premium building, with about 380,000 m², more than 2,000 domestic brands and over 200 imported brands, so ticket prices sit above Sunlink, Tuanyi or Empire for a comparable piece and there is less room to negotiate. The advantage is design range and finish quality in one place; buyers on a mid-market budget often use it to set the reference and then price the same look elsewhere.

What should I bring to the Foshan furniture market?

Bring a floor plan with room dimensions, a list of items with target sizes and quantities, reference images, a tape measure, and a phone with WeChat, a translation app and a Chinese SIM or eSIM. Business cards help; a WeChat QR code helps more, because every follow-up happens there. Keep a running spreadsheet of item, showroom, price, specification and lead time, updated in the car between stops.

Can I take small purchases home with me?

Small items such as lamps, cushions, rugs and decor can travel as checked baggage if you accept the risk of damage and the airline's size limits, and many buyers do this for samples. Furniture cannot. Anything larger than a suitcase goes to a consolidation warehouse and ships by sea with the rest of the order, which is also where export packing and inspection happen.

How far apart are Lecong, Longjiang, Nanhai and Chancheng?

Close enough for one car to cover two areas a day. Lecong to Longjiang is 15–20 minutes by car; Chancheng to Lecong is 30–40 minutes; Lecong to Dali in Nanhai is about 40–50 minutes depending on traffic; Nanzhuang sits on the western edge of Chancheng, about 30 minutes from the city centre. Dongguan's Houjie is 1–1.5 hours east and is a separate day.

Do I need a translator in the Foshan furniture market?

For browsing, no; for ordering, it helps. English is workable at the Louvre, at export-oriented factories and with younger sales staff in Lecong, and translation apps handle product questions. Specifications, deposits, packing and lead-time commitments are where meaning gets lost, so for those conversations bring a bilingual companion or a local sourcing team on a guided day, and confirm everything in writing on WeChat afterwards.
