باختصار

  • In a Boston renovation shared on Xiaohongshu, the installer fitted the cabinets in one day; worktops were templated and fitted a week later — about four working days spread over two weeks.
  • That owner’s reported costs: labour USD 5,000+, cabinets USD 8,000, quartz worktops USD 5,300.
  • A Paris owner paid about EUR 1,000 for kitchen installation and waited a week for top filler panels she had been told she would not need.
  • Moving her sink meant relocating a socket that could not stay above it, and a German owner found the hood barely coped with Chinese stir-frying — both local-fit questions to settle before ordering.
  • None of these kitchens was made in China; they show how installation works where the cabinets will land.

Chinese-made cabinets are installed abroad by a local cabinet installer working from the factory’s drawings, so the order must ship with everything that installer needs: labelled cartons by room and position, assembly drawings in English, hardware kits per cabinet, filler and plinth panels, spares and touch-up material. Confirm appliance fit, electrics, gas, plumbing and local code requirements with the installer and licensed trades before production, not on installation day.

Who installs Chinese-made cabinets abroad?

A local cabinet installer or kitchen fitter, briefed with the same production drawings the factory used — plus licensed trades for plumbing, electrics and gas. Chinese factories install at home; abroad they almost never do. The three kitchens in this research, in Germany, France and the US, were not made in China, but they show how installation works at the destination. In Germany the retailer outsourced installation to another company, which took two days; in Paris a contractor fitted a retailer-designed kitchen for about EUR 1,000 of labour; in Boston an installer fitted the cabinets in a day.

Book the installer before the container sails and send them the drawings early. The process that produces those drawings is in our الشامل لخزائن المطابخ من الصين.

What should ship in the cabinet installation kit?

Everything the installer would otherwise have to find locally, and nothing they cannot identify. Ask the factory for:

  • Cabinet assembly instructions in English, one drawing per cabinet, keyed to carton labels;
  • cartons coded by room, wall and position, matching the drawings;
  • hardware kits bagged and labelled per cabinet, plus 5–10% spare hinges, runners, shelf pins and cam fittings;
  • filler, scribe, top and plinth panels in the finish, oversized for cutting on site;
  • touch-up material: edge-banding strip, colour-matched filler or pens, spare door buffers;
  • a packing list per carton to check on arrival.

Wall fixings are the exception: screws and plugs depend on the wall (plasterboard, masonry, timber stud), so the installer should choose them. The Paris owner learned the filler lesson: told her cabinets needed no top panels, she had to order them later and wait a week. Our دليل التعبئة للتصدير covers cartons and crates, and فحص الأثاث عند التسليم the arrival routine.

An imported kitchen is finished by a stranger who never met the factory. The installation kit — labelled cartons, English drawings, spare hardware and oversized fillers — is the factory’s only voice on site, so it deserves the same inspection as the doors. We check the kit before loading as carefully as the cabinets themselves.

Should cabinets ship flat-packed or assembled?

Flat-packed for most overseas orders; assembled only when installation time costs more than container space. Flat-packed carcasses are dense, protect well and suit an installer who assembles on site with pre-drilled parts. Assembled boxes save labour but carry mostly air. The board matters here too: particleboard holds cam fittings and screws less well than plywood, so repeated assembly or rough handling shows — see خامات ألواح وحدات المطبخ. For projects with many identical units, a trial assembly at the factory, filmed, is worth asking for; wholesale cabinets from China covers repeat-unit orders.

The comments under the overseas kitchen posts add timing and cost detail.

  • Two days to fit. A German reader whose installers had not finished in one day was told by the author that theirs took two.
  • A month end to end. The same author says design to delivery and installation took about a month, with the retailer sending its own measurer.
  • Measure it yourself if needed. A Paris reader asked when to plan a new-build kitchen; the author says the fitters she booked to measure failed to turn up, so she measured herself and ordered once the handover date was fixed.
  • Holes cut on site. Asked about switch openings in a timber wall panel, the German author confirmed they were cut on site.

How do you make sure appliances and services fit?

Fix every appliance model before drawings, and have the installer check the drawings against local codes and the appliance manuals. The posts show why. When the Paris owner moved her sink, the socket above it had to move too; a built-in microwave needed its own supply, which the developer had provided; the hood duct needed a new wall opening. The German owner chose the retailer’s own appliances and found the hood barely coped with Chinese stir-frying. The Boston owner kept an existing Chinese-brand hood and fitted a new range.

Chinese factories draw to Chinese appliance sizes and clearances by default. Send model numbers and installation manuals, and confirm ventilation, clearances, electrics, gas and water with your installer and licensed trades — codes vary by country and city. Measuring is covered in cabinet measurements; appliance clashes are the first item in common problems with Chinese cabinets.

What is the installation sequence and timeline?

Cabinets first, then worktop templating, then worktops, splashback, handles and appliances — allow two weeks of elapsed time even if the work is four days. The Boston kitchen is a clean example: cabinets fitted in one day, then the worktop company measured and made templates and fitted quartz a week later, then the installer returned for the splashback, handles, appliances and small jobs. Worktops are usually templated from installed cabinets, so a stone top shipped from China needs exact drawings and carries more risk than one templated locally.

What should you budget at the destination?

Duty and brokerage, local delivery, installation labour, worktops if made locally, trades, and a contingency for missing parts. The Boston owner reported labour over USD 5,000 against USD 8,000 for cabinets — a reminder that installation is not a rounding error. US buyers must also check anti-dumping and countervailing duty exposure on wooden cabinets and vanities from China (orders in force since 2020) with a broker — see our explainer و Chapter 94 HS guide.

كيف تتعامل Source Foshan مع ذلك

Before loading we check the installation kit as part of inspection: carton labels against drawings, hardware kits and spares against the packing list, filler and plinth panels, English assembly drawings. Cabinets from several suppliers are consolidated in our Foshan warehouse, re-packed to export standard and labelled by room, and we coordinate export documents, customs and door-to-door delivery. The balance is released only after you approve the photo and video report; our fee is 3–5% of order value.

If you want the cabinets delivered and fitted by one team, we recommend Arcaya Living: its delivery path runs from protective packing and freight through customs coordination, truck delivery and installation with packaging removed, and its projects include cabinetry in the Bay Area and San Jose.

Who can install kitchen cabinets bought from China?

A local cabinet installer or kitchen fitter, working from the factory’s drawings, with licensed trades for plumbing, electrics and gas. Book them before the container sails and send them the drawings early.

Do Chinese cabinets come with assembly instructions?

Not always in a usable form, so ask for English assembly drawings per cabinet, keyed to carton labels, as part of the order. Check them at inspection before loading.

How long does it take to install a kitchen?

In the Boston example, cabinets took one day and the whole job about four working days spread over two weeks, because worktops are templated after the cabinets are in.

Will Chinese cabinets fit my appliances?

Only if the appliance models are fixed before drawings and the installer confirms clearances and connections against local codes. Chinese factories default to Chinese appliance sizes.
