Foshan to Orlando: 17 Pieces Delivered in May, Installed on 30 July When the House Was Ready — Packaging Cleared the Same Day

Seventeen pieces for a new house in Orlando, Florida (32836): armchairs, a curved sofa set, marble nesting tables, library seating and a round marble table. The order did not fill a container, so we advised a consolidated (shared-container) load and re-crated the fragile pieces in timber.

The furniture arrived in May, but the house was still being finished. Rather than store it or push the client, the crew delivered the crates into the house on 19 May and left them sealed.

On 30 July, when the fit-out was done, the crew came back: unwrapped, assembled and positioned every piece between 16:40 and 16:55, and had the packaging on the truck by 17:02.

Renovations run late. Ships do not wait. This Orlando client’s furniture was ready in Foshan months before the house was ready for it — a normal situation on a new build, and one where a shipment left to a freight forwarder usually ends up in paid storage, or standing in cardboard in the middle of a construction site. Some factories ship in a thin plywood case that is fine for a domestic truck and not fine for a shared container crossing the Pacific. Before this order left Foshan the fragile pieces were rebuilt into braced timber crates, and the whole order — all 17 pieces — was staged at our warehouse and checked as one shipment.

- Packaging removed
Crates, cardboard and wrap loaded on the truck and taken away.
Seventeen pieces’ worth of crates, cardboard and film on the truck seven minutes after the last piece was positioned. The client kept the furniture, not the packaging.

- Re-crate what the factory under-packs
Thin plywood becomes braced timber before it leaves Foshan. On a shared container this is the difference between a chipped marble edge and none.
- Install when the house is ready, not when the ship is
Crates delivered in and sealed in May; installed at the end of July. No storage bill, no pressure on the client’s renovation.
- A second visit is part of the plan
The crew that delivered came back to unwrap, assemble and position — the same team, so nothing was lost between visits.
- Clear-up is the last line item
Sweep the rooms, load the waste, leave. The install is not finished until the packaging is gone.
Questions buyers ask when the house is not ready
What happens if my furniture arrives before my house is finished?
Two options: hold it at the destination warehouse (which costs storage by the week) or, as here, deliver the sealed crates into a finished part of the house and install later. We scope the second visit up front so there is no surprise charge when the house is ready.
Can you split delivery and installation into two visits?
Yes. In this case the crates were delivered on 19 May and installed on 30 July 2026. The crates stay sealed between visits and the same crew comes back to unwrap, assemble and position.
Why re-crate furniture that the factory has already packed?
Factory packaging is designed for a domestic truck to a showroom. Shared (LCL) containers add forklift handling at both ends and weeks of movement at sea. Timber bracing around the wrapped piece is how marble, glass and veneered edges arrive intact — see export packing in our QC guide.
