metre<\/b>.<\/li>\n<li>A buyer who furnished a <b>220 m\u00b2<\/b> flat for about <b>RMB 110,000<\/b> planned the route alone and told a reader there was no need to pay a middleman once in Foshan.<\/li>\n<li>Source Foshan&#8217;s guided days cost <b>USD 150<\/b>, \u0438\u043b\u0438 <b>USD 250<\/b> with a car; the route is approved before the trip and we take no shop commissions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"answer\"><strong>Foshan furniture guides drive buyers between malls and factory showrooms, usually for a low day rate or nothing. Buyers report that some guides are also paid by the showrooms they bring clients to, as a share of what the client buys \u2014 which gives the guide a reason to steer you. Foshan&#8217;s furniture district spreads across <a href=\"\/ru\/showrooms\/areas\/lecong\/\">\u041b\u0435\u043a\u043e\u043d\u0433<\/a>&#8216;s malls, <a href=\"\/ru\/showrooms\/areas\/longjiang\/\">\u041b\u0443\u043d\u0446\u0437\u044f\u043d<\/a>&#8216;s factory showrooms and smaller towns, most independent showrooms expect an appointment, and prices for similar pieces vary widely from one building to the next.<\/p>\n<p>The question is who pays. Guides who charge a clear day rate are paid for their time. Guides who charge little or nothing are, buyers report, sometimes paid by the showrooms instead \u2014 a share of what you buy, commonly called a rebate or commission. Nothing about that is visible on the quote you receive. It does not make every free guide dishonest, but it changes whose interest the route serves.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"do-foshan-furniture-guides-and-shopping-agents-take-kickbacks\">Do Foshan furniture guides and shopping agents take kickbacks?<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Buyers report that some do; you cannot tell from the outside, so treat an unpaid guide as a seller&#8217;s representative until shown otherwise.<\/strong> The Xiaohongshu posts we reviewed describe the incentives around the showrooms clearly, even when they do not use the word:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Intermediaries everywhere.<\/b> Under a widely saved Lecong guide, a maker who has worked in Longjiang for almost ten years says most Lecong shops are intermediaries and that clients arriving from Lecong often tell him prices there were high.<\/li>\n<li><b>Referral carriers.<\/b> The same guide&#8217;s author found that freight carriers recommended by the shops were not the cheapest, and that contacting a dedicated freight line herself saved more than RMB 50 per cubic metre.<\/li>\n<li><b>Same sofa, two prices.<\/b> A sofa quoted to her at RMB 18,000 in one mall came down to RMB 8,000 for the same design in another.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>When a reader asked a buyer who had just furnished a whole flat whether hiring a local buyer would be safer, the reply was blunt: \u201cSince you&#8217;re going anyway, there&#8217;s no need to let a middleman earn the difference.\u201d That is fair advice for a domestic shopper who can return to the showroom. Beforehand, the buyer followed brands&#8217; Xiaohongshu accounts, dropped those that replied slowly or would not show a factory, and asked the rest by WeChat for addresses and catalogues \u2014 most would not quote in advance.
