Industry estimates reported by UPI in May 2026 put the city at about 35% of China&#8217;s furniture production and roughly 30,000 related companies. The Chinese customs and trade-fair context for those numbers is in the <a href=\"\/ru\/china-furniture\/\">China furniture industry overview<\/a>; this page stays on the ground in Foshan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The scale is easiest to grasp in Lecong, a town in Shunde district about 25 km south of Foshan&#8217;s city centre. Guangdong&#8217;s official GDToday portal describes Lecong Furniture City as more than 4 million m\u00b2 of operating area across 180-plus malls, with over 10,000 domestic and foreign dealers, some 3,000 manufacturers represented, more than 20,000 visitors a day and annual transactions of around RMB 80 billion. Malls line National Highway 325 for over 5 km. Fifteen minutes west, Longjiang town is where much of what Lecong sells is made: over 1,200 factories, mostly sofas, beds and upholstery, with a 1 million m\u00b2 furniture marketplace and a 300,000 m\u00b2 materials market of its own.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Foshan is also China&#8217;s ceramics capital. Nanzhuang in Chancheng district is lined with tile and sintered-stone showrooms, Dali in Nanhai produces aluminium profiles and metal furniture, and Luocun hosts a large lighting market. A buyer furnishing a whole home or fitting out a hotel can therefore source furniture, flooring, stone tops, lighting and hardware within a 40-minute radius, which no other Chinese city offers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group sf-callout\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Consolidation is under way<\/strong> UPI reported that an estimated 300 Foshan furniture companies closed in 2025, about double the year before. Each has a different price, minimum and level of control, and a whole-home or hotel order typically uses all three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A mall showroom in Lecong is the fastest route to a finished product you can see and sit on. Prices are the highest of the three because they include the dealer&#8217;s margin and the mall rent, but there is no minimum, delivery from stock takes days, and colour or fabric changes on a displayed model take 3\u20135 weeks. A factory-attached showroom, common in Longjiang and at venues such as the <a href=\"\/ru\/showrooms\/venues\/maao-exhibition-center-longjiang\/\">Ma&#8217;ao Exhibition Center<\/a>, sits at or near the production line. Prices run 15\u201330% below the mall for the same piece, minimums are modest (often 5\u201310 pieces of a sofa model, 20\u201330 chairs), and the factory can change dimensions and internal construction, not just the cover.
